Event comments
Vault toilet available in the Netul parking area and at the Sunset Beach Trailhead, as well as 1/2 way point on the trail. Fort Clatsop is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. If you are working on the Honoring Our Flag Special Program, do either Option #1 or Option #3, as the flag is flown at the Visitor Center. A water tower is visible when doing Option 2. The Fort-to-Sea trail wends its way through the woods from Fort Clatsop to Sunset Beach on the Pacific Ocean, covering land that once was home to the Clatsop Indians. While the Trail is navigable in any weather, please note that rain can make the trail slick in some places and muddy in others. Also, while the abundant wildlife that you might see, such as deer, elk or eagles, or bear, bobcat or beaver, might be shy, the domesticated animals, such as cows, you can encounter in the pastures on the south side of U.S. 101 might not be.
