Event comments
You will walk the entire length of the "Prom"(enade), passing the Seaside Aquarium and a statue of Lewis & Clark at "The Turnaround" and on the boardwalk beside the Necanicum River. Visit site of the Lewis & Clark Saltworks, which is part of Lewis & Clark National Park. Route passes the new city library, the firehouse, city hall (site of the former railroad depot), and the Seaside Historical Society Museum (Butterfield Cottage). Scenic walk through a coastal beach resort. Mostly flat route on sidewalks, except for a short path over soft sand to view Necanicum River estuary and a short stretch along an ocean beach dune path.

Event information
Daily, dawn to dusk. Motel offers a 10% discount to volkssporters. Drive about a mile to start walk at Seaside Convention Center, 415 1st Ave. (Driving directions at registration point)

Driving to the start box
2369 S Roosevelt. Hwy 101 to Seaside. Register at Motel 6, which is adjacent to Bigfoot Pub and Grub, just S of traffic light on Hwy 101/Roosevelt at Ave U. File cabinet containing registration materials is in the Conference Room adjacent to the motel lobby.
