Event comments
All trails follow the hard-pack dirt fitness trails and/or sidewalks of Fort Carson. The trail is rated a 2B for altitude and a few moderate hills. The trail circles the Fort Carson Golf Course and main post area. It is suitable for fitness walking/jogging strollers, but not wheelchairs. Restrooms are available at the start/finish and along the trail. Leashed pets are welcome on the trail. WATER: Available at the start/finish. Carrying water is highly recommended. County: El Paso.

Driving to the start box
815 Cheyenne Meadows Road, Colorado Springs, CO- From 1-25, exit 138, go W to Lake towards the mountains. At the interchange for CO Hwy 115. turn left going south to Hwy 115 to second traffic light to Cheyenne Meadows Road. Left on Cheyenne Meadows Road, then right into King Soopers Grocery Store parking lot. Volksmarch box located at service counter (be sure to ask for Ft Carson box). If the Service Counter is closed, ask a cashier to get the box from behind the counter at the service desk. Driving directions to start point on Fort Carson are on walk directions. You will leave the King Soopers parking lot turn left and then left at traffic light onto Hwy 115 going South. All Non-Government (DOD) card holders must enter through gate One off HWY 115. All Non-DOD card holders just be in the right hand lane and proceed to the Visitors Center at the right of the Main Gate. You will need to have a background check done. This should only take a few minutes. Remember to have your drivers license/proof of insurance/car registration with you. All persons/vehicles entering the post are subject to random search. All non-DOD participants enter Ft Carson through Gate #1
