Event comments
Parking at the Shell Station is okay for registration but not for the walk; directions are provided in walk box to nearby parking options. Pets are not allowed on Light Rail or on West Seattle Water Taxi. Water Taxi schedule is reduced in winter -check online with King County/Metro. Note that this is an urban walk in a busy sector of the city; it may be challenging for those walking with children. Can be hot in summer.

Event information
Known primarily as a commercial or industrial area, the Sodo district includes as well Seattle's major sport stadiums, restaurants/club/wedding venues, the waterfront and much public art. The 6 & 11K routes stay in the Sodo area while the 13K crosses to the Alki Trail in West Seattle for a trip on the West Seattle Water Taxi to cross Elliott Bay to the finish point at the Pioneer Square Station in downtown. 13K route requires purchase of Light Rail fare and Water Taxi fare to return to start point.

Driving to the start box
2461 4th Avenue South, Seattle, WA 98134. From Light Rail disembark at Sodo Station, turn right onto S Lander and walk one block to the Shell Station. Driving Directions: From NB I-5: take exit 161 (Swift/Albro). Turn left onto Swift Avenue and stay in right lane. After 1/2 mile roads veers right and becomes 15th Ave. S. (Passing high school on left). At traffic light turn left onto Lucille and continue downhill. Turn right on Airport Way for 2 miles/ Turn left onto Lander Street and drive four blocks to the Shell Station on the right. From SB I-5: Take exit 163 and stay in far right lane for 6th Avenue South. At end of ramp turn right onto 6th Avenue. After one block turn left onto Lander. Continue for two blocks to the Shell Station on the right. Metro: #131, 132, 124; Sound Transit: 590, 594, 595.
