Start Point: register, then drive 43 miles to start point at Castro County Courthouse, 100 E. Bedford St., Dimmitt. From Plainview Comfort Suites, right on I-27 frontage road to TX-194. Left on TX-194 to US-385. Continue on US-385 to Bedford St., then turn right and park.

Located along the old Ozark Auto Trail in the Texas high plains where they produce lettuce, onions, potatoes, carrots, livestock, and agricultural chemicals. Famous people: Junior Coffey (NFL), Kent Hance (politician), Mayfield brothers (Bluegrass musicians), and Lometa Odom ( Women's Basketball Hall of Fame).

Walk Box: 3615 Grandview Dr., Plainview 79072. Southbound on I-27, take Exit 49 to US-70 / Olton Rd; turn left on Olton to Grandview Dr. and right on Grandview to hotel. Northbound on I-27, take Exit 49 and turn right on Grandview.
