Long description
Hours 6:00am - 9:00pm daily. Walk is completely on paved surfaces through residential areas, along pedestrian walkways, and college parks. Highlights include Penn Park, Penn Museum of Archeology and Anthropology, the Phila. Art Museum, the Water Works, and a paved trail along the banks of the Schuylkill River. Enjoy beautiful views of the Phila. skyline throughout the route.

Access to start point may be affected by COVID-19 virus. No free parking in the area. Parking available in lots on JFK Blvd. on West side of terminal. Senior citizens can ride SEPTA for $1.00 by showing their Medicare card when purchasing a ticket. The Schuylkill Banks YRE start point is across the river for the Schuylkill River Trail which can also be biked for AVA credit. See Valley Forge, PA - Schuylkill River Trail (Bike) for details. To get your bike to the SRT walk it across the river on Market Street and go down the ramp.

Driving to the start box
(Main Concourse of 30th St. Station) 2951 Market St., Philadelphia 19104. (215-243-9897) By Car: From Camden, NJ area: Cross Ben Franklin Bridge to I-676. Follow signs to I-76E-Int'l Airport. Take Exit 345 (30th St./Market St.) Turn Right on Arch St. and circle station to JFK Blvd. Right on JFK to available parking lots. Pay fee and walk to 30th St. Station. Once in the station, proceed to au bon pain located in the center of the Main Concourse. From PA Turnpike: Take the I-76 exit (Exit 328) to Exit 345. Follow directions above. From Delaware and South: Take I-95N to PA-291E (Exit 13) (To I-76W/Valley Forge). Take I-76W to Exit 345. Circle terminal counterclockwise to JFK Blvd. Follow directions above. By Train: 30th St. Station services Amtrak (www.amtrak.com) (800-872-7245), and SEPTA Regional Rail (www.septa.org) (215-580-7800) from points in Southeastern PA. When arriving by Amtrak, proceed to au bon pain in the Main Concourse. When arriving by SEPTA, follow the signs to the Amtrak terminal by taking the ramp on the left which leads to the Main Concourse. The box is located in the office of au bon pain.
