The Land Bridge was designed by a team of Northwest architects led by Johnpaul Jones in collaboration with Maya Lin. Pearson Airfield & its museum highlights the historic early connection of Vancouver to air flight.

Event information

Tue - Sat, 9 am to 4 pm; closed Sun & Mon. Closed New Years Day & Eve, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve & Day. Those needing to walk on days of closure, email and/or call point of contact ahead of walk date to request remote registration. This event explores the importance of this area in the history of the US, the Northwest & the Pacific region. Route goes thru city parks, Clark College, Pearson Airfield & the National Historic Site, passing monuments & historic buildings along the way. At the core of the historic site is Old Fort Vancouver, originally established by the Hudson's Bay Company in 1824 as the trade center for the Northwest & Pacific region. The route culminates by crossing the Land Bridge designed to connect to the Columbia River.

This event also has a physical start box. These are the driving directions:

1501 E. Evergreen Blvd. From I-5 in Vancouver, take Exit 1C to Mill Plain Blvd. Northbound vehicles turn RIGHT & southbound turn LEFT onto Mill Plain Blvd. At the 1st traffic signal, turn RIGHT onto Ft Vancouver Way. At the roundabout, go 3/4 of the way around to the 3rd exit and head east on Evergreen Blvd. After about 1/2 km, turn RIGHT into the Visitor Center parking lot. If the lot is full, there are 2 other parking areas beside Evergreen Blvd back the way you came.
