Open 24/7. Ask hotel attendant for the Walk Box. The box is kept in the big cabinet on the wall to the left of the check-in desks, on the bottom shelf. Walk along the riverfront, and past many interesting historic buildings, as well as a lot of new development. The city is revitalizing and adding more attractions each year. Montgomery has many civil rights landmarks, including the new Legacy Museum and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice. This walk passes the Alabama State Capital building, the White House of the Confederacy, Martin L. King Memorial, several historic churches, a confederate cemetery and Hank Williams's grave site, to name a few.

Driving to the start box

300 Tallapoosa St. 334-269-5055. From I-65 southbound, take Exit 172 (Downtown/Clay St). After 1st traffic light, turn left on Herron. Cross Interstate bridge. Go 5 blocks and turn left on Molton. Turn right on Tallapoosa. Hotel is on the left. From I-65 northbound, take Exit 172 (Herron) and follow above directions.
