Event information

Walk daylight hours. Spar opens every-day except Thanksgiving and Christmas. May close early the day prior to a major holiday. This walk is entirely along the Tacoma waterfront. The 10K walk goes to the new Pt. Ruston development and back, passing the old Tacoma Fireboat and Fireman Memorial. A very scenic walk passing parks, shops and restaurants, on a wide sidewalk. Many passing boats in Commencement Bay along the entire route. You may add an additional 1K walking through the Chinese Reclamation Park and Pagoda and another 1K walking the new Dune Peninsula Trail. The 5km walk follows the 10K route for half the distance and back.

Driving to the start box

2123 North 30th St. From Interstate 5: Exit #133 (I-705/City Center). Exit onto I-705. After the first exit, go to the right lane following Schuster Parkway sign, then to the left lane exiting I-705 on Schuster Parkway. Once on Schuster Parkway, take the N. 30th St/Old Town exit. The Spar Coffee Bar and Cafe is on the corner (right side) at N. 30th St and McCarver St. Use street parking. Start box is in cabinet near restroom entrance NOTE: If coffee shop is closed, enter restaurant through next door on right.
