The trail is through Texas State University (where President LBJ graduated), historic neighborhoods. 5km downtown trail goes by Mermaid statues. See hours on Y1288.

Driving to the start box
501 East Hopkins ST, San Marcos, TX 78666. Telephone: 512/393-8280. From North on I-35 take Exit-205 (TX-80/Luling). Turn RIGHT at underpass and follow Hopkins Street West past the 3rd intersection (Charles Austin DR) to San Marcos Activity Center (just past Public Library on RIGHT). From South on I-35 take Exit-205, turn LEFT under freeway and follow Hopkins Street west to Activity Center.
