Long description

Walk on gravel/dirt roads and dirt trails around a number of small lakes and ponds as well as on a nature trail.

Comments

First volksmarch held in Bennett County in over 20 years. Great time of year to visit refuge to view the fall migration of birds. This walk is held on the same day as the Pine Ridge Volksmarch. You can register for the Lacreek walk at the Pine Ridge walk held in the morning. After doing the Pine Ridge walk, take Hwy 18 east out of Pine Ridge to Martin.

how to get to the event

Driving to the start

At Martin, turn south on Hwy 73 and follow posted signs. If signs are missing, go 4 miles south, turn left and go 1 mile east, turn right and go 1 mile south, turn left and go 7 miles east to the Refuge Headquarters where the walk starts.
