Event information

Daily 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Closed major holidays. Route is primarily on sidewalks along city and residential streets and some natural surfaces around local park. Winchester is an independent city located in the northwestern portion of the Commonwealth of Virginia. You will pass a grist mill, the location of one of the forts George Washington built, Stonewall Jackson's Headquarters Museum and Patsy Cline's House. Directions include historical information for Winchester points of interest. This walk qualifies for the City of Winchester in Virginia Cities Program.

how to get to the event

Driving to the start box

Email POC for directions and register when VC reopens. 1400 S Pleasant Valley Rd. (Points E: I-95/495 (Washington DC Metro Beltway) Exit 8, Rt 50 W (Arlington Boulevard). Winchester is 60 miles west. Upon entering Winchester, watch for and follow signs to Visitors Center. Turn right onto Pleasant Valley Rd and the Center is immediately on the right. From Points North: Use I-81 to Exit 313, Route 50 West. At first light, turn right. Follow signs to Visitors Center.
