Event comments
Pet owners are responsible for picking up after their animal. Restrooms are available at the start/finish and along the trail at Arnold Hall, Visitor's Center and the Field House. Walk is located in the Colorado County of: El Paso. When the Air Force Academy is under normal security measures, visitors are invited to enter the installation through the North Gate between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm. The Academy's security measures are directed by NORTHCOM, and can change from time to time with little or no advanced notice. Your patience and understanding during these heightened security measures are appreciated as you may experience random precautionary measures and vehicle checks that may lead to extended wait times at the North Gate. These stricter security requirements may require a government-issued photo ID and vehicle registration to access the installation or the Academy's Security Police may deny you access altogether. If that is the case, please graciously accept their decision and complete the alternate 10k trail. The instructions for this trail with drive instructions to the trailhead are available in the volksmarch box at the Loaf'N Jug. This trail wanders through the Gleneagle housing area.

Event information
Daily, 5:30am to 10pm. No walking in inclement weather. Two volksmarches register here, ask for the Air Force Academy Volksmarch box. After registering you must drive to the start. Directions will be in the box. The Air Force Academy is one of our country's National Historic Landmarks. Trail is hilly at an altitude of 7,280 ft and includes dirt trails, roadsides, and sidewalks. The 5k and 10k trails pass by the Chapel, and Visitor Center. The 10k trail also passes the Cadet Field House.

Driving to the start box
161 North Gate Blvd. From I-25, take exit 156 (Air Force Academy/Gleneagle). Proceed east approximately 1/2 mile on North Gate Blvd to the Southwest corner of North Gate Blvd and Meadowgrass Drive.
