Event comments
This walk features many limestone structures, a city park, limestone monuments and goes past lovely period homes. The walk goes through a cemetery with outstanding limestone tombstones which have been written up in magazines like Smithsonian. Water and restrooms are available at the start/finish, at the park, and if the public library is open, in the library. You will see limestone carvings by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in Wilson Park.

Event information
Pets are not allowed in cemetery, however you can bypass cemetery and still do a 10K. Due to personnel turnover at Hardees, They often don't seem to know what a volkswalk is or where the box is. Tell them the box is clearly marked and is normally kept under the front counter where the cash registers are and says Bedford Hiking Club or Volkswalk Box.

Driving to the start box
N or S, take SR 37 to US 50 E. E on US 50 (16th) to "O" St. Start/finish at Hardees. E or W, take US 50 (16th) to Hardees at corner of 16th and "O' St.
