All walkers must register pryor to walking. Pets are welcome except in buildings. Cleanup and leash laws apply. Operating times of the Carousel sometimes vary. To call in advance. Event information
Parking is limited around the carousel building, but is available in nearby Monteith park at the foot of Washington St., near the senior center, and along water street. The carousel is closed on Tuesdays, but you may tour the facility on other days and see volunteers painting or carving the new animals that will be added to the carousel. The walk takes you through the historic areas of Albany. The many Challenges will be listed in the registration book. Most are easily found on the route with the exception of the Historic Train Station (1912) on the corner of 5th and Lion streets, now Ciddicci's Pizza or the old St. Francis Hotel on 1st and Ferry, also 1912. The White Spires Albany Presbyterian Church (1891) 5th and Washington. I can say with confidence that this walk has more Special programs and State challenges than any walk in Oregon. Downtown has a wide variety of dining choices.

Driving to the start box
901 Pacific Blvd. SE Albany OR 97321 From I-5: South or North follow signs to City Center after entering pacific Blvd. Continue on Pacific. POPS BRANDING IRON will be a half block from the traffic light right after the Chevron Station. POPS will be on your Right. Register at Pops then drive to down town to start the walk from the Carousel. Driving directions will be attached to the map/walk directions.
