Event comments

The Seneca Valley Sugarloafers charges all participants over 12 a $3 fee. Walkers will enjoy FREE ENTRY into the Oktoberfest! The Fairgrounds will be turned into a German Village with food and drink, music, dancing, many vendors, children's events, and more. This Oktoberfest is produced by the Rotary Clubs of Frederick County to benefit local charities. Oktoberfest information: www.frederickoktoberfest.org

Event information

There are 10 km and 5 km trails. Both the 10 km and 5 km trails go to the Airport; then the 10 km continues to the Historic Downtown Frederick along the Carroll Creek Park. . Trails are on sidewalks and roadsides . The trails are user friendly for wagons, wheelchairs and strollers, though some difficulty may be encountered where there are no curb cuts. AVA Special Programs: Airport (on both 5k &10k trails); Clocks, Little Free Library, and Veterans (these 3 on the 10k trail ONLY !)

Driving to the start

Frederick Fairgrounds, 797 E Patrick St., Frederick, MD 21701. Start Table is located within the Fairgrounds, beyond entrance gate 1 for the Oktoberfest. DIRECTIONS TO VOLKSMARCH PARKING: On I-70 West: Take Exit 56 (East Patrick St.). Continue on East Pat-rick St. ****Turn LEFT on Franklin St at light.; then RIGHT into grass parking lot, which is across from Gate 1 of Fairground. Park and walk across E. Patrick St. to Gate 1 of Fairground. Look straight ahead for our Volksmarch START table. Parking is free, but you may make a donation to the Rotary Clubs ! On I-70 East: Take Exit 56 (East Patrick St.). Turn RIGHT at end of exit onto Rt. # 144. This will merge with East Patrick St. Continue on East Patrick St. Follow from **** above.
