Long description
The Mission Reach of the San Antonio River Walk passes by four of the five area UNESCO status missions and the Espada Aqueduct. The area is undergoing natural rehabilitation into a more natural river environment, but shade is rare at the moment. The trail will be temporarily closed when flooded.

Comments
The Mission Reach is not part of the Howard W. Peak Greenway Trail System, but it will be connected to the Medina River Greenway in 2020. The Mission Reach consists of concrete and asphalt surfaces. Much of the trail is within the San Antonio River flood plain with several crossings. The trail may briefly have standing water or mud after rains. The trail will be temporarily closed when flooded. Drinking water and restrooms are available at most trailheads.
