Long description

Come celebrate the ratio between the circumference of a circle to its diameter--approximately 3.14 - on Pi Day! There will be a 5K (approx 3.14 miles) and a 10K (approx 3.14 x 2) routes available which are rated a 1A. This route was designed to take people into neighborhoods they'd never walked in before; they'll walk in the Little Pocket neighborhood and discover Belle Cooledge and Bahnfleth Parks as well as trying out Kobasic's Candies on Riverside Blvd. They'll walk by the Sacramento Executive Airport and the Sacramento Public Safety Center as well as the Belle Cooledge Library.

Comments

The routes are wheelchair and baby stroller friendly. Dogs are permitted on a leash with cleanup, but are not allowed inside the start location. Water and restrooms are at the start/finish and at the Belle Cooledge Library.

Driving to the start

Marie Callender's, 5622 Freeport Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95822. From the North--take I-80BUS W and merge onto CA-99 S. Take exit 296 for Fruitridge Rd and go right on Fruitridge Rd. Use the 2nd from the left lane to turn left onto Freeport Blvd. Turn right after Citibank into the parking lot. From the South--take CA-99N to exit 296 for Fruitridge Rd W in Sacramento. Use the 2nd from the left lane to turn left onto Freeport Blvd. Turn right after Citibank into the parking lot.
