Event information
The walk routes exit the NCGC parking lot, proceed on a bike trail for a short distance to the library (restrooms open 10:00 am to 4:00 pm), and back on the bike trail until it crosses Hwy. #49. The routes then go through a part of Nevada City, on dirt trails, across the suspension bridge before returning to the Start/Finish. All walkers will see Oak and Pine trees, and streams. It is advised that walkers carry their own water and walking sticks. CA Special Program, Walking with Woody.

Driving to the start
From Sacramento; take Hwy 80 East, towards Reno. Take exit #119 B in Auburn and proceed north on Hwy #49 toward Grass Valley. Continue beyond Grass Valley staying on Hwy #49. After passing Nevada City go Left to continue on Hwy. #49 where it meets Hwy. #20 towards Downieville. Shortly after turning left, turn Right onto Maidu Ave. and continue to the parking lot of the NCGC noting the AVA Banner. From Reno; take Hwy 80 West, towards Sacramento. Take exit #161 to take Hwy. #20 toward Nevada City. When you reach Nevada City, continue straight onto Hwy. #49 as #49 intersects with Hwy. #20. Shortly after passing the intersection, turn Right onto Maidu Ave. and continue to the parking lot of the NCGC noting the AVA Banner.
