Trail Description: The trails are on sidewalks and roadsides through the city of Hagerstown. You will pass by stately houses, churches built in the late 1700 to 1800's, the City Farmers Market, the historic Hager House/Museum, through City Park, Washington County Fine Arts Museum, the Hagerstown Cultural Trail, and the Welcome Center. The trails have medium difficulty for wagons and strollers; hard for wheelchairs. NEW: Statue of Thomas Kennedy.

The Augustoberfest Event pays tribute to the area's rich German heritage and supports scholarships for exchange students to Hagerstown's Sister City - Wesel, Germany. This 25th annual event will feature two days of festivities found at traditional Oktoberfest celebrations in Bavaria. All activities are held rain or shine under a large Festival Tent in Downtown Hagerstown's Central Parking Lot.

how to get to the event

Driving to the start

Directions: Parking Garage address: 23 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, MD 21740. (On-street meter parking is free) From the EAST, take I-70 West to EXIT 32B (US 40), exit and proceed approximately 3.2 miles to Potomac Street, which is just past Mulberry Street and Locust Street, in that order. Turn left on Potomac Street. Go block to parking deck on right ($5.00, all day). Fest area is across the street. On-street meter parking is free on weekends. From the NORTH, SOUTH & WEST, take I-81 to EXIT 6A (US 40 EAST) towards Hagerstown, which is Washington Ave., ONE WAY eastbound for about 1 miles. After going through an underpass cross Walnut St., Prospect St., Jonathan St. to the Public Square at Potomac St. Fest tent is block to the left. On-street meter parking is free; the parking deck costs $5.00, all day. To reach the Parking Deck, turn left on Locust St., turn left on Franklin St. and turn left on Potomac St. Go block to parking deck on right, and Fest area is across the street.
