Comments
The 2,174-acre park is a mixture of sheer limestone cliffs, deep canyons, dense woodlands, and numerous clear streams, and has 11miles (18k) of hiking trails. The land for the natural area was acquired by the State of Texas in 1973 and 1974, and was opened to the public in 1979. In 1980, the Heritage Conservation and Recreation Service made the park a National Natural Landmark.
