Event information
Walk on sidewalks and paved paths through residential neighborhood and up to or cross the famous Tacoma Narrows Bridge. The original bridge was built in 1940 and collapsed in a wind storm that same year. It was rebuilt in 1950 and second bridge opened in 2005. The 10km walk goes to the center of the bridge and returns. The optional 12km walk completely crosses the bridge and returns. The 6 km walk goes past the bridge but not on it. All continue through War Memorial Park. There is no toll for walkers.

NEW ROUTE and START LOCATION IN 2021 -- 3842 Bridgeport Way. I-5 Exit 132(SR16 Bremerton) West Bound on SR16.l Exit at Jackson (last exit before Narrows Bridge). TURN LEFT at end of off ramp onto Jackson. Eastbound: Take exit to Jackson Ave. (Last exit before Narrows Bridge). Turn RIGHT on Jackson Ave. After crossing 6th Ave, Jackson becomes Bridgeport Way. Continue on Bridgeport Way to 40th St. W. Safeway is in shopping center on the right. Ask for "Walk Box" at Service Counter in front of store.
