Event comments
The Samoa Cookhouse, just a few minutes drive from Eureka over the Samoa Bridge, is the last surviving cookhouse in the West. The museum and dining rooms have many mementos of early lumber and logging days.

Event information
North Coast Co-op open 7 days, 6am-9pm. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas. Ask for AVA Walk Box at Customer Service Center, inside right entrance. This walk is on city sidewalks and a boardwalk. Eureka has been called America's most picturesque small town for its water views and Victorian-lined streets. Highlights include many beautiful historical homes and "Old Town" which is the heart of early Eureka, and has over 200 old store buildings, hotels, and cafes. Today there are many unique shops with resident artists and craftsmen, bars/pubs, and eateries. The Carson Mansion, one of the most famous ornate wooden structures in America, (and thought to be most photographed) is included on the walk.
