Event information
Heading north on the PCT at 5400 feet the trail parallels the highway, passing through fields of wildflowers blooming in late July and August. At about 2k the trail enters the forest and fields of lupine before ascending the final 300 feet to Sheep Lake, the turn around point for the 7K. The additional climb to Sourdough Gap at 6400 feet gives you glimpses of Mt Rainier and other impressive views. Be prepared for all weather conditions. Bring lunch to eat at Sheep Lake or at Sourdough Gap. Excellent hike for children.
