Event information

ROUTE: Along this trail the forest mixes the elements of the rainforests to the west with plants of the rainshadow to the east. Near the Falls the woodland is dominated by Douglas Fir and masses of fern. As the trail reaches the spectacular Sol Duc Falls the route turns downstream following the east bank back to the starting point. There is a Geocache at the Hot Spring area and several along the Sol Duc River.

This event also has a physical start box. These are the driving directions:

HWY 101 West, 1127 Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles. DIRECTIONS:Drive though Port Angeles on Hwy 101 West, turn LEFT on Lincoln Street; continue straight on Lincoln past several stop lights and turn RIGHT on Lauridsen Boulevard at the stop light staying on 101 West. Go about a mile. Just before the Shell Station is the Fairmount Restaurant on the right. The Walk Box is to the left, inside the door. YOU MUST DRIVE 40 MILES TO THE PARKING LOT TO BEGIN THIS WALK. ENTRY FEE OR PASS REQUIRED TO ENTER THE OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK.
