Creston is home to a restored historic train depot and boasts over 20 murals in uptown alleys. Five lakes and over 6,000 acres of publicly owned parks, woodlands and wetlands are located within 25 miles with opportunities for camping, fishing and hiking. www.unioncountyiowatourism.com

Event information
Dawn to dusk. Following the Park to Park Trail, the 6k goes through historic McKinley Park and the Union County Historical Village, around Lake McKinley and to the Kuhl Family Arboretum. The 11k adds a trail segment towards Green Valley State Park with views of the countryside.

Driving into Creston on Hwy 34, on the west side of town, turn N onto Patriotic Dr (you'll see the Freedom Rock and Visitor's Center). R onto Park St and follow E and N through the railroad underpass, veer L onto McKinley St, Just past Stone St and to your L you'll see the "Bear Cage" parking area. The Walk Box is mounted on the shelter house 4.
