Take a leisurely stroll through the Hamlet of Southold, the oldest English town in New York state. Founded in 1640, Southold is filled with history, and you'll have a chance to walk in the footsteps of its first settlers at Founders Landing. You'll see tranquil beaches, varied architecture, a historic graveyard, and lovely water views in an area filled with sumptuous farm stands and vibrant vineyards. If you're visiting on summer weekends, be sure to explore the grounds or schedule a tour at the Southold Historical Society.
