April to October typically 7 days a week, but November through March the trip is only available Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The walk begins with a 22-mile boat trip aboard the Island Packers' catamaran, The Islander. Food and beverages as well as restroom facilities on board. Dolphins inhabit the channel and California Gray whales can be seen from December to late March. Upon arrival, Park Rangers give an orientation. Allow enough time to hike the route from Scorpion Bay to Smuggler's Cove and enjoy the views, flora and fauna in a place where nature remains intact.
