The 10k trail winds up a fairly steep hill on a path that has a layer of wood bark that is tough for strollers. The 5k starts at the Mission, avoids the hill, but is hard for wheelchairs.

Event information
This Monterey County walk passes the historic Carmel Mission. The Mission was founded by Fr. Junipero Serra and is where he is buried. The Mission is the church of an active Catholic parish. After the mission you walk though a local park, through the trees, and then down the main street of Carmel. You will pass quaint shops, art studios and restaurants on your way to the Carmel Beach. The trail goes along beautiful Carmel Bay with vistas of Pebble Beach and Point Lobos, along the Carmel River Lagoon and finishes by passing through residential areas of unique homes.

Driving to the start box
500 Del Monte Ave, Monterey, CA 93940-2405. GPS: J426+22 Monterey. From Hwy 1 S take Pacific Grove/Del Monte, turn off (exit 402B). Merge onto Del Monte and continue S to 500 Del Monte. Store is on the left at Figueroa. Park behind Taqueria but enter from Del Monte--walk box ahead by counter. Open Mon-Sat 8am-10pm, Sun 10am-10pm. After registration, drive to start point.
