Event comments
Access to start point may be affected by COVID-19 virus. A highlight of the walk is the 2,000 foot long Hoover-Mason Trestle which is now a public walkway. It is located on the former Bethlehem Steel campus (SteelStacks). The trestle was once used as a narrow gauge railroad to carry coke, limestone and iron ore to the blast furnaces. Walk the trestle to get up close and personal with the blast furnaces. Note that dogs are not allowed on the trestle.

Event information
Walk daily dawn to dusk. The walk goes through Lehigh University, the South Bethlehem Greenway, and through the former Bethlehem Steel campus. The redeveloped area includes a casino, hotel, outlet mall, PBS station, arts campus, skating rink, and the Steel ruins. The walk continues into Fountain Hill past the mansions of 19th century Bethlehem movers and shakers.

This event also has a physical start box. These are the driving directions:
120 W Third St., Bethlehem 18015, 610-882-9700. S: PA-309 N to PA-378 N to Bethlehem. Approx 6 miles to Third St. and turn right. Cross Broadhead and enter parking lot from Third St. E: I-78 to Exit 67 for PA-412/Hellertown/Bethlehem. Right on PA-412. Follow Hwy signs for 4 miles. Sands Casino, becomes Daly, then Third. Left on Brodhead, enter hotel parking lot. N: US-309 S, continue to PA-33 S. Exit US-22 W to Bethlehem/Allentown. Exit to PA-378 S to Bethlehem. Travel 4 miles until freeway ends; merge to left lane. Slight left turn on Third to bottom of hill. Right on Brodhead, quick left to hotel parking lot. W: US-22 E to PA-378 S to Bethlehem. Continue with directions from above. Parking lot entrance on Brodhead. Walkers are instructed to park in back of lot.
