Event comments
Walk trails through diverse habitats in the park. 5K loops through meadows and woodlands and visits the Veterans’ Cemetery. 10K adds walking down to the South and North Beaches, and a stroll thru a surrounding neighborhood, including an optional visit to a heron rookery. Bring binoculars and camera for great Puget Sound and Olympic views, birdwatching and beach walking.

Driving to the start
North Parking Lot, Discovery Park, Seattle. From I-5, either direction, take Mercer St exit. Continue STRAIGHT on Mercer St, eventually curving RIGHT and downhill to Elliott Ave W. Go RIGHT on Elliott Ave which becomes 15th Ave W. From 15th Ave W. take Dravus St exit and go LEFT on Dravus. Continue across bridge over railroad tracks, and turn RIGHT on 20th W., which will become Gilman and then Government Way. Follow Government Way to entrance to Discovery Park. Immediately before entering Park, turn RIGHT on Texas Way and follow it to North Parking Lot.
