Event comments

In the event of heavy rains and flooding before the event, we will move the walk to downtown Mineola. Start point will be the Amtrak Train Station at 115 W Front St. Continue north on US-69 to Mineola. Train station on east side of highway just south of the railroad tracks.

Event information

Enjoy hiking on old rails-to-trail down to the Sabine River and around the new disc golf course. Look for wildflowers, small animals, and maybe an alligator.

how to get to the event

Driving to the start

1860 County Road 2724, Mineola. From I-20, take US-69 north toward Mineola. East on Loop 564 (about 3 miles south of Mineola), then veer right on County Road 2724 to the entrance on the right. (Follow signs from US-69 to the preserve)
