Event comments
The Presidio’s north end has a rich history which includes the arrival of the Ohlone people about 700AD and it’s Spanish settlement in 1776 heralding the beginnings of San Francisco. It boasts an extensive trail system and inspirational views that seem to go on forever. This updated walk encompasses the Main Post, Ft Point, Crissy Field, the Palace of Fine Arts, and many less well-known but quite charming areas. The Presidio route includes the area at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge and takes you under the bridge - what a sight! A separate route that crosses the Bridge can be incorporated into the Presidio walk or done on its own.

Restrooms at start, GG Bridge, Ft Scott, golf course clubhouse, Presidio Officers Club. Restaurants/food available at & near the Main Post, GG Bridge, Ft Point. NOTE: Dogs are not allowed on Golden Gate Bridge or in Fort Point.

Driving to the start box
210 Lincoln Blvd. From the No. and the Golden Gate Bridge, take the Presidio exit. Turn right onto Girard Rd (stop light) and right onto Lincoln, 2 blks - V.C. on right. From E by Lombard (Hwy 101), enter Lombard Gate,right at Letterman Dr, right at Presidio Blvd/Lincoln Blvd, straight at 3-way traffic circle (@ Girard Rd), 2blks - V.C. on the right. From So, 280 (left lanes exit to 19th Ave) via 19th Ave/Park Presidio. Continue to 101, taking the 1st exit to SF, then next exit to the Presidio. Turn right onto Girard Rd (stop light) and right onto Lincoln, 2 blks - V.C. on right.
