Event information
Call the Brau Haus at 319-622-7332 for hours of operation. The trail goes through Amana and Middle Amana and incorporates most of the Amana Kolonieweg, a recreational trail that circles a lily pond and connects the two villages. The Amana Colonies are a National Historic Landmark; over 400 buildings in the villages are listed as part of the landmark. The Colonies feature a woolen mill, wineries, meat shops, a brewery, bakeries, a handmade furniture shop, and unique museums relating to the history of communal living in the early Colonies. Driving to the start box
741 - 47th Avenue, Amana, IA. From I-80, take Exit 225, proceed N on Hwy 151. At junction with Hwy 6 (about 5 miles) turn right, continuing on Hwy 151 to Amana. At traffic signal in Amana (220th Trail) turn right. At "Y" in road keep right on 47th Ave.
