Event information
The trail goes through the Capitol Gardens, around the State Capitol and several war memorials on the Capitol grounds. It tours the East Village featuring unique shops and eateries and crosses the river to go through downtown Des Moines and the Pappajohn Sculpture Park and recrosses the Des Moines River on the Principal Riverwalk pedestrian bridge. Botanical Garden is closed Mondays and holidays, open 10-5 other days. Call 515-323-6290 or visit dmbotanicalgarden.com for more information. Walk box is in the alcove to your right when you enter.
