Several movie settings will be along the trail; the courthouse used in "Cold Turkey" and the stone bridge and Northside Cafe used in "The Bridges of Madison County". This walk is part of Iowa's Walking Club County Program, Madison County.

Event information
Remote start point. After registering at Casey's, turn Left (south) on John Wayne Dr 10 blocks to Washington St. Turn Left and continue to 9th St. Turn Right into Winterset City Park. Walk will be on park roads and city sidewalks. The 10k includes a climb to Clark's Tower with a view of Iowa's rolling terrain. Walk by the birthplace of John Wayne and one of the covered bridges of Madison County. The walk includes the Madison County Historical Complex which includes 14 buildings. 1021 John Wayne Dr, Winterset, IA 50273. From I-35 southbound take Exit 56 - Hwy 92 west 13 miles to Hwy 169/92 intersection. Casey's on Left. From I-80 Westbound take Exit 110 (US Hwy 169-Winterset). Turn Left (south) 14 miles to Winterset. Casey's is on the SE corner of Hwy 92/John Wayne Dr (Hwy 169)
