Enjoy views of Commencement Bay and Puget Sound while walking through either the charming Pt. Ruston community, Dune Park, Pt. Defiance Park gardens and beautiful neighborhoods of Ruston or see lots of historic homes and areas as well as gardens in nearby Tacoma with places of reference to note. Two loops--7K and 5K--can be done individually or combined for a "charm-n-view" packed experience.

Event information

The 5k loop is rated 1A through neighborhoods to the south of the VFW Hall. The 7K loop is rated 2B and travels downhill to the north and gradually works it way back up. Dogs on leash with cleanup. Both loops start at the VFW Hall. Restrooms on 7K loop only.

Driving to the start

4741 N. Baltimore St. I-5N: Exit #132 (SR16W/Gig Harbor/Bremerton). Stay Left in exit and merge onto SR16W. Take Exit 3 (6th Ave to SR163N/Ruston) Continue onto Bantz Blvd. Right on N Pearl St. Right on N 46th St. Left on N Baltimore to VFW. On-Street parking. I-5SB: Exit #132 (SR 16W Gig Harbor/Bremerton) Stay right to take Exit #132B. Continue as above.
