Event comments
Enjoy a beautiful spring day in Gruene. Come early to walk and then spend the rest of the day exploring the many sights, sounds and tastes that Gruene has to offer. Gruene Historic District is home to Texas' oldest dance hall offering live music daily, unique Texas-style dining overlooking the river, wine tasting, antiques, eclectic shopping, river rides and more. The village of Gruene is a historic district within the city limits of New Braunfels. In its glory days, it was a significant cotton-producing community along the Guadalupe River. The town was redeveloped and restored in the 1970's and 1980's and now has a thriving tourist business. Most of Gruene is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
