Event comments
A fun stop to make on this walk is at Rapid Ray's. Open since 1953, this is Maine's landmark and original fast food take-out establishment. Laurel Hill Cemetery, established in 1844, was one of the first garden cemeteries in the U.S. In late June, Main Street comes alive the annual Saco Main Street Art Festival. Event information
One of the best features of this walk is that it begins at the Saco Transportation Center, meaning walkers can take the Amtrak Downeaster train and start walking! Restrooms are available at the Transportation Center. For those driving, limited free parking is available, depending on time of day. Parking tags can be purchased at kiosks. Dogs are allowed in the cemetery but must be leashed at all times. Dog owners must clean up after their pets. Dogs are not allowed in Saco Museum or other buildings.
