Long description

The 5k and 10k routes have a common start. The 5k route goes through the historic downtown and commercial areas. The 10k route then ventures east and includes old and new residential areas, a walking trail and the cemetery. There is a short distance of natural walking surface and uneven sidewalks. There is one significant uphill (about 80 feet) on a paved sidewalk and a few gradual hills on the route.

Newtown is very historic. It is one of William Penn's original towns, was prominent during the Revolutionary War, and served as the seat of Bucks County for 88 years. The Newtown Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
