Event information
Daily, Dawn to Dusk. Rated 1A. After registering you must drive to the start of the walk (approximately 6 miles). Direction to thewalk start will be in the box. Take a restful walk in the woods along shaded lanes in the Pinckney Island Wildlife Refuge. Pass by open areas where flocks of Ibis, endangered Wood Storks and Egrets abound. In Spring and Fall, it is also a favorite stopping-off point for warblers and other migratory birds. An ideal walk for "birders" or for those who just enjoy a peaceful, serene walk in the woods. You may even glimpse the elusive Roseate Spoonbill. No restrooms at Pinckey Island; only at registration site. Carry water, bug spray and sun protection.
