Event comments
The Battle of Williamsburg resulted from the Confederacy withdrawing from Yorktown toward Richmond. The redoubts were used to keep the Union army from advancing to the Confederate capital, and originally stretched across the peninsula. Some of these redoubts remain and are highlighted on this walk. The first redoubt is easy to reach, but the second is more challenging to reach.
