This walk goes past the 1st capital building of the state of California, thru historic Benicia with many shops, around the marina, and on parts of the Bay Area Trail along the Carquinez Straits.

Benicia, named to honor the wife of General Vallejo, is the only pre-Sacramento capitol that survives. The route goes past the Capitol building, through historic downtown, and around the marina.

Mill Valley is an exquisite and rich smaller town that has attracted movie stars/moguls - has been called the best place to live in California. Sausalito is a fun city full of boat houses on the bay.

Vacaville is a typical small town of the 20th Century. It is a prosperous farming center with beautiful Victorian Homes, and a picturesque historic downtown. In the center of town.

The walk is on paved and dirt recreational trails passing a lovely redwood grove, up a short steep hill on a paved trail and then around the Lagoon.
