This is a delightful walk starting at the 26 acre J.T. Stepanek Park (dedicated to an heroic poet who died at age 13.) The walk showcases the relatively new walkable community of King Farm.

Come visit the Holiday Lights and Christmas Tree display at the Mormon Temple. You may also listen to a choral concert while you are at the Visitors Center. For Fall Colors, walk through Garrett Park.

If the weather is frightful, you can walk in the mall. If the weather is pleasant, you can walk outside on the natural surface trails of Cabin John Regional Park.

The park offers beautiful scenery, historic sites and over 25 miles of trails. There is an extensive wetland area on the Upper Western Piedmont Trail, home to the Eastern Bluebird and Timberdoodle.

The Damascus Recreational Park sits on 284 acres and has multiple outdoor athletic fields and courts for general recreation. The multi-use trail follows the Magruder Branch Stream Valley.

Walk the natural surface trails in Lois Green Park, by ponds, blue bird boxes and under the flight path for the nearby airport.

You have a choice of 2 trails. Both include a lake and residential areas.

Climb aboard an old steam locomotive, wander through the shops and restaurants of Old Town Gaithersburg and around the old Methodist summer village of Washington Grove ... a view of living in the past

Come wander around the brand new community of Crown, then catch a snack or meal from a business around the lake at Rio. You may go shopping at a diverse set of stores.

Come stroll the wooded natural surface trails of Seneca Creek State Park or along its roads. There are two 10k natural surface trails and one 10k trail that goes along the paved roads.

Come wander around Little Seneca Lake then catch a snack or meal in "downtown" Germantown. You may want to catch a show at Black Rock Center for the Arts or pick up a book from the library.

Watch a new community being built. There are several communities in this area. All are new or being built. Every time you walk this event, you will see new homes and buildings.

Come wander around the planned village of Kentlands. Stop at one their many restaurants or stores. Visit the lakes and see the bird life that abounds around them.

Come walk the quaint town of Laytonsville, originally known as "Cracklintown".This name originated from the popular cracklin bread, which was baked in the locale. Laytonsville was incorporated in 1892

Take a hike on the Appalachian Trail in MD. For a FLAT hike, leave Harper's Ferry via the bridge over the Potomac River, turn right on the C&O Canal towpath. Walk your distance and return.

Walk past many of the Embassies that are in Washington D.C. or up to the National Cathedral.

Walk to Georgetown, a thriving city that was established before Washington D.C. was built. Now it contains many of the upscale homes in D.C. and is home to Georgetown University.

The 5k trail goes through the National Zoo. The 10k trail goes through the Adams Morgan section of D.C. and includes the National Cathedral. Great architecture, historical sites, ethnic eateries.

Wander to and around Lake Hallowell and see the abundant bird life that thrives there. Then wander out to the retirement village of Brooke Grove.

Come visit the Raptor Exhibit!

There are 2 trails; one to the north on the Rock Creek multi-use trail to Lake Needwood, or one to the south on the Rock Creek trail to the Parklawn Memorial Cemetery.

Come indulge your historical side and see how some people escaped slavery using the Underground Railroad. Get an idea of the hardships they went through and how they found their way to the north.

Come walk a section of a beautiful 4.5 mile trail in the heart of Montgomery County. This trail was named for the famous explorer Matthew Henson. Read about his life on storyboards along the trail.

Visit historic Silver Spring or the eclectic village of Takoma Park or walk on the Sligo Creek multi-use trail. All have interesting sights and lots of history.

Visit the planned Villages of Urbana as well as the District Park with its plentiful recreation fields. Also walk through the old section of Urbana.

Trail is on city sidewalks and streets through the county seat of Carroll County. It passes the courthouse, historic homes and churches, and goes through the McDaniel College campus.

The Sligo Creek Trail is a 10.2 mile hard-surface trail that is one of the oldest trails in the County. Wheaton boasts activities and attractions that are as eclectic and diverse as its residents.
