If you are staying at the Best Western, you can receive a $0.50 discount for credit. Just ask the hotel front desk to put the date(s) of your stay and your room number on your start card and then send $2.50 for credit only. In addition, Best Western will take $1 off the room rate when you present a completed start card! You can purchase a visitor's pass which will allow you to enter many of the buildings in the colonial area. For information about the activities taking place in Colonial Williamsburg and cost of the visitor's pass or to make reservations for lunch or dinner in one of the taverns, you may go to their website at history.org. For those walking the Virginia Cities program Williamsburg is an Independent City. Both trails will be along the shoulder of roads, on sidewalks, through the historical area of Colonial Williamsburg and the College of William and Mary. Both trails are suitable for strollers and handicapped personnel.

Sunup to Sunset-but walk during daylight hours. Both trails use pedestrian roads and sidewalks, through the historical area of Colonial Williamsburg and the College of William and Mary. At this time, masks are not required outdoors on the college campus if you stay 6 feet or more away from others. They are required indoors. You might want to carry a mask in case the rules change.

Driving to the start box

351 York St. Richmond/Points N: E on I-64 to Exit 238, "Camp Peary, Colonial Williamsburg", VA Rt 143. Top of ramp, right to VA Rt 143 E. Junction with Rt 5, continue on Rt 5. Approx 2.1 miles, left on US Rt 60 E (York Street). Best Western on left approx 0.1 miles after turn. Norfolk, Hampton, Newport News: I-64 W to Exit 242A (Hummelsine Pkwy), Williamsburg, VA Rt 199 W. About 1.1 miles to Exit for US 60. Right to exit. Bottom of ramp, left to US 60 W. Best Western on right approx 1.9 miles.
