Elevation of 8,150. You'll enjoy a leisurely walk through Vail Village, the Nature Center and the Betty Ford Gardens, and along the area's bike paths. You'll find many shops and restaurants to be explored in this lovely "Bavarian"-styled village.

Driving to the start box
20 Vail Road. 970-476-5656. 100 miles W of Denver on I-70. Vail exit 176 to roundabout. Around roundabout, under I-70, around 2nd roundabout (until you appear to be going back toward Denver), take S Frontage to Vail Transportation Center, and Public Parking. Walk down steps to parking structure to road, turn right, walk on E Meadow to Vail. Left on Vail to Sonnenalp.
