Event information
The Mickelson Trail is a 108.8 miles Rails to Trail with crushed limestone and gravel. A trail pass is required and is available at most trail heads. You will register at one of the registration locations and then drive to the trail head of your choice. You can walk any section of the trail for any distance you feel comfortable with. Mickelson Trail maps are available in the registration boxes.

Driving to the start box
The Heart of the West Conoco is located at the south end of Main Street in Hill City, SD, next to the Quality Inn. Additional registration boxes are located in Deadwood, SD and Custer, SD (see bhva.org for more detailed information).
