Long description

This walk goes through the grounds of the Weimar Institute and covers a small percentage of their trails. Walk through dense forest, Manzanita groves, and up and down hills. It is mostly wooded dirt trails in the rolling Sierra Foothills. You will see oak, pine, a manzanita forest with streams and wildflowers.

Even though there are water and restrooms near the start, it is recommended that walkers carry their own water. There's a good picnic spot at the half way point on the route loop. Walking sticks are advised. NO SMOKING

Driving to the start

From Sacramento; take Hwy 80 east, towards Reno. Take exit #130 toward West Poali Ln. Stay on Paoli Ln. and go across the freeway then stay right and go to the Parking lot on the right. Note the AVA Banner! From Reno; take Hwy 80 west, towards Sacramento. Take exit #130. Turn Right onto W. Paoli Ln, stay right and continue to the parking lot on the right. Note the AVA Banner!
