There is a 10-Km trail consisting of two 5-Km loops, both with a rating of 2B. The trails consist mainly of city streets, pathways, some hills and natural surfaces.

Comments

The fee for IVV Credit or Non-IVV Credit walkers is $3.00. Children 12 and under (IVV-Credit included) may walk for free courtesy of Freestate Happy Wanderers. The same trail may be walked for credit twice on the same start card on the same day with no extra charge.

Driving to the start

DIRECTIONS FROM I-95 NORTH/SOUTH From I-95, take Exit 33 (Laurel/Burtonsville), Rt. 198 West toward Burtonsville. Turn LEFT onto Old Gunpowder Rd. Fairland Sport & Aquatics Complex is 1.5 miles on the Right. Follow signs to Volks-parking behind main building and softball fields, near the Stormwater Management Building. From Washington area, heading north on Rt. 29 just after the traffic light for Blackburn Rd., take the Exit for Rt. 198 Burtonsville/Laurel. At the end of the exit ramp turn RIGHT at the traffic light. Go 1.5 miles to the 2nd traffic light and turn RIGHT onto Old Gunpowder Rd. Fairland Sport & Aquatics Complex is 1.5 miles on right. Follow the signs to Volks-parking behind main building and softball fields, near the Stormwater Management Building. From Columbia, heading south on Rt. 29 take exit labeled to Rt. 198 Laurel/Burtonsville. At the end of the exit ramp, go straight through the roundabout. Turn LEFT at the 2nd traffic light Rt. 198 East onto Laurel. Go 1.6 miles to the 3rd traffic light and turn RIGHT onto Old Gunpowder Rd. Fairland Sport & Aquatics Complex is 1.5 miles on right. Follow signs to Volks-parking behind main building and softball fields, near the Stormwater Management Building
