Rated 2A. Suitable for strollers but not wheelchairs. Walk has four options. Only one event credit even if completing all options. 6/10 Km is along the greenway with views of the Catawba River and through a large park. This is the only option suitable for large wheel wheelchairs. Rated 1A. 11 Km includes historic old neighborhoods with homes from the 1800s through the 1920s, a picturesque downtown area, a beautiful old courthouse and a shaded greenway along the Catawba River. Saucy squirrels on the greenway love peanuts. Rated 2A. 13 Km includes the 11 Km option with additional neighborhoods and the site where Frankie Silver was hung for killing her husband. 21/23 Km is combination of above. Judge's is home of the finest BBQ in western NC. "B" award available.

Driving to the start box
110 E. Meeting St., , Morganton, NC 28655; 828-433-6793 M-F 9-5; Sat: 9-3; Sundays and holidays call ahead. From I-40 take exit 103 (US-64 East) toward Morganton. Follow "Visitor Information" signs. Go 1.5 miles to US-64/70 Business. Turn right and go approx. 1/2 mile passing Sterling St to VC at end of block on right. Driving Instructions to Greenway start point (across street from 128 Greenlee Ford Rd.) Exit visitors center and turn left on Green St. Left on E Union St Continue as It becomes W Union St. Just beyond Ingles Market (on right) turn right onto Greenlee Ford Rd. Parking is on right at end of road
